This session expands on the idea of Transformation After Trauma through the concept of Resonance. Resonance is defined as a moment of awakening, through personal stories, that creates an opportunity for transformative learning. Resonance is presented as the key to posttraumatic growth and transformation and the presenter provides practical guidance for accessing it, in these times of trauma we are navigating through. This work is based on the speaker's newly published book of the same title.*

  4. Practical application ideas for using Resonance in their practice, using specific case  examples

About the Facilitator: 

Yabome Gilpin-Jackson,PhD, is a multi-award winning scholar-practitioner in human/organization development with research awards and professional recognitions in Canada, United States and United Kingdom. She is an executive leader, consultant and educator in Leadership, Organization Development and Transformational Change in academia and across the private, public, nonprofit sectors. In addition to a groundbreaking book on Transformation After Trauma: The Power of Resonanceshe was a contributor to the inaugural special journal on Dialogic OD and the book that followed:  Dialogic Organization Development: The Theory and Practice of Transformational Change (Berrett-Koehler, 2015). She has written journal articles and a guidebook about the Grey Zone of Change that includes the idea of generative change leadership and practice. In addition to peer-reviewed publications, she is author of Identities & Ancestries, short story collections about global African experiences and Lead Editor of We Will Lead Africa. Yabome continues to research, write and speak on leadership & organization development issues, posttraumatic growth & on honouring diversity and social equality in our locally global world. She considers herself a dreamer, doer and storyteller, committed to imagining and leading the futures we want.
